ABOUT US
Fixing Cars, Bikes & Commercial For Over 80 Years
Sidney Woodall and his son Harry founded the business in 1945. As time passed by, Sidney’s two other sons Norman and Clifford joined the business, and Woodall Brothers was created. The business grew over the year and two more garages, in South Kirby and South Elmsall, were purchased by the company. All of the garages employed local people to work side by side with the Woodall family.
After the sad passing of Sidney, Norman took control of the business. As time went by Norman, who had been working alone, found it difficult to manage all three garages. Therefore it was decided that two of the garages would be sold, and the Hemsworth Garage would take on the customers from the garages that had been sold.
Later, as Norman’s son grew older, David and Terrance joined the thriving business and later bought the business to carry on the tradition. Dave put down the spanners in 2006 but when his wife passed away in 2011, he retired due to ill health. Terrance Woodall never had chance to put the spanners down as he passed away suddenly in December 2015, he is sadly missed.
Christian Woodall, David’s son started working for the family business in 1989 aged just 15. David and Terrance trained Christian the old school way. He became a very talented motor engineer, who never lets any motor vehicle beat him. Christian works up to 16 hours a day to ensure his customers get their vehicles back the same day. We will always try to repair before replacing a part, as we know this will make it more cost effective to our customers.
Christian took over the business when his father David retired in 2006, to work along side his Uncle Terrance. In 2010 Joshua Woodall joined the business, and just like all the previous generations, he was trained in the traditional Woodall way. He is now qualified as an automobile engineer and MOT Tester.
Later in 2015 Jordan Woodall also joined the family team and is currently undergoing the same traditional Woodall training that all the other generations of his family received. So now the tradition lives on with Father and two Sons running the business that goes from strength to strength.
